What is the Harvest Share Food Box program?
The Harvest Share Food Box program is a weekly opportunity to access safe healthy fresh food direct from local farmers at a fair price.
What will the Harvest Share Food Box Program contain?
The Harvest Share Food Box will contain an exciting variety of fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits along with recipes which relate to what is in the Harvest Share Food Box for that week. Each week will contain new combinations of produce to ensure an ever changing variety of flavours for your palate.
Who can be involved in the Harvest Share Food Box Program?
The Harvest Share Food Box Program is open to anyone who cares about eating safe healthy fresh food and wants to support local farmers.
How do I pick-up my weekly Harvest Share Food Box?
You can obtain your weekly Harves Share Food Box in one of three ways;
Home Delivery (added weekly surchage of $7.00, includes HST, and must be in delivery zone(s)
Farm Pick-Up (free weekly service at our location in the Holland Marsh - we are located one minute West of Hwy 400 on Canal Road)
Hours for Farm Pick-Up: Thursdays 1:00pm - 7:00pm and Fridays 9:30am - 4:30pm (subject to change before start of season)
Local Depot * Please be advised that for the 2012 Season the only local depot created is for Newmarket/Aurora/King City. For those in Newmarket/Aurora/King City we have two spots for you to pick-up at other than direct home delivery:
1. Direct Farm Pick-Up: 819 Canal Road (in the Holland Marsh)
2: An Aurora/Newmarket depot at the corner of Bathurst Street & Henderson Drive Details TBA (This does not exclude you from choosing home delivery if you wish.)

If you wish to have your area become a home delivery zone we base these areas on received registration forms. Please contact us if your area is not on this list as we are constantly receiving requests for home delivery in other areas and can let you know if that may occur this year. We can help you get this set-up in your area.
Do you have a Referral Program?
For every houshold you bring into this season's program you will receive a $10.00 rebate. Your referral must complete the entire season and rebate cheques will be mailed out 4-6 weeks after the last week. For example: If you refer 5 households, and they all complete the season, you will receive a $50.00 rebate cheque! (If you referred someone to last year's program and they start up again for this upcoming season the rebate no longer applies. This referral program applies to new referrals you bring into the program for each season only.) If your referral comes in mid season they must complete the season from their start date and the referral amount of $10.00 will be pro-rate to reflect their weeks on the program. (i.e: if they come in on week 10 and complete the final 10 weeks you will receive $5.00 for that referral).

Being a part of the Harvest Share Food Box Program is one way to reduce your carbon footprint, to support your local economy and to guarantee a weekly supply of safe healthy farm fresh produce for your family by dealing direct with a local farmer.
How many weeks does the Harvest Share Box Program run for and when does it start?
This year's Harvest Share Food Box program commences on Wednesday, June 20th, 2012 and runs for 20 weeks. The final box will be Wednesday, October 31st, 2012.
Will the Harvest Share Food Box be fexlible with vacations?
Yes, the Harvest Share Food Box will be flexible with vacation times as long as we received 10 days written notice prior to when the vacation starts, you will not be billed for the Harvest Share Food Box for those weeks. If you miss a week or do not give proper notice you will be billed for that week. This option is available for a maximum of 4 weeks throughout the 2012 season.
How can I access the Harvest Share Food Box Program?
You can access the Harvest Share Food Box Program by contacting Carron Farms by phone 905 775 2432 or email harvestshare@carronfarms.ca and reserve your Shares for the up coming season. Shares will be limited so we suggest acting promptly.
Where is the produce grown for the Harvest Share Food Box Program?
The produce for the Harvest Share Food Box Program will be grown at Carron Farms (an LFP certified farm) in the Holland Marsh and other local farms that follow best farm practices.
Where can I pick up my Harvest Share Food Box?
You can pick up your Harvest Share Food Box at Carron Farms, located in the Holland Marsh, on a day to be determined or at a designated depot. (We also offer Home Delivery $7.00 weekly including taxes.)
What will the Harvest Share Food Box Program cost? How do I pay?
The 2012 season costs are $20.00/week for a Personal Size Box and $28.00/week for a Family Size Box. If you wish to have home delivery, please ad $7.00(includes HST). The program runs for 20 weeks this season. We accept cash or cheques. All cheques should be made out to Carron Farms Limited. If you wish to come into the office to pay via cash or cheque please make an appoitnment by calling 905-775-2432 with Sarah Gaudet. We are in and out of the office and fields daily so appointments are necessary so we don't miss you.
How do I pay for my Harvest Share Food Box?
It is a pre-paid program where you can pay for the entire season upfront upon registration and/or take advanatge of our payment plan that allows you to pay in two equal instalments. The first half of the season (10 weeks) is due upon registration and the remainder of the season (the final 10 weeks) is due on or before July 26th, 2012
What if the box size I choose is too little/too much for my household?
Not to worry, with 10 days written notice we will be able to upgrade or downsize your weekly box size. Your final payment will be adjusted to reflect the changes if you are downsizing. If you are upgrading between payment due dates or after, a pro-rated rate may be applicable and payable within 10 days.
Is there a difference in produce between the different sizes?
There could be a minor difference some of the weeks but all of the same produce will be included in the boxes at some points during the season. The boxes will be arranged to ensure that you are not given all of the same produce each week. They will be planned to ensure that each month you are given an exciting variety of produce. The Personal Box will feed approx 2 - 3 people and a Family Size box will feed approx 4 - 5 people.
How will I know what to expect in the boxes each week?
If you wish to be informed of the Harvest Share Food Boxes contents each week, we will be sending out a weekly email on Wednesdays, the day before your box is ready for pick-up. This will allow you to properly plan for any other non-local produce needs.
