This program is a great way to access Fresh Ontario Produce for you and your family. We hope you join us this season to see why Fresh really is Best!
One thing we get asked a lot is what kinds of produce we included in the boxes. We try to ensure that throughout the season you will receive common and a few un-common items to show you just how much Ontario farmers have to offer you. If we include what might be considered an un-common vegetable it is gerenally the feature item that week and the recipe that week is geared toward that item.
We offer two box sizes: Small or Large and two frequency options: Weekly or Bi-Weekly(every other week)
Here is a list of the produce you might find throughout our program as well as some monthly samples so you have an idea of how much to expect each week:
The Harvest Share Food Box program is a weekly or bi-weekly program that runs from Mid-June to the end of November each year. Each week you receive a box of fresh seasonal Ontario produce. This seasons first boxes go out June 25th, 26th, and 27th and the final boxes go out November 7th, 8th, and 9th.
The boxes will contain an exciting variety of fresh Ontario seasonal vegetables and fruit(s). In addition to the produce we provide a recipe which relates to what is in the box for that week. Each week will contain new combinations of produce to ensure an ever changing variety of flavours for your palate.
The Small Size Box contains anywhere from 7-8 items and the Large Size Box contains anywhere from 10-12 items each week.
The Harvest Share Food Box Program is open to anyone who cares about eating safe healthy fresh food and wants to support local farmers.
The Harvest Share Food Box program commences the third week of June and runs for 20 weeks. It end in the second week of November. 2018 Season: The first boxes go out June 25th, 26th and 27th and the final boxes go out November 7th, 8th and 9th.
The 2018 season cost:
Small Size: $26.00/box
Large Size: $35.00/box
You can register for a weekly basket or bi-weekly basket (every other week)
Optional Home Delivery: add $8.00 per week (plus HST)
Optional Group Delivery: Please contact us for the 2018 Group Delivery Rates.
Group Deliveries can occur at Business or Home Address within our delivery zones at a discounted weekly rate. Contact us today about setting up a Group Delivery drop at your business or on your street!
We accept credit cards (Visa/Mastercard, contact office for payment), e-transfers (use code: Harvest), cash or cheques. All cheques should be made out to Carron Farms Limited. If you wish to come into the office to pay via cash or cheque please make an appointment by calling 905-775-2432. We are in and out of the office and fields daily so appointments are necessary so we don't miss you. We do not accept debit cards at this time.
You can obtain your weekly or bi-weekly Harves Share Food Box in one of four ways:
Home Delivery: $8.00/week, plus HST, must be in delivery zone
Group Delivery: Contact the office for the 2018 Rates.
On Farm Pick-Up*: Free service at our location in the Holland Marsh, (we are located one minute West of Hwy 400 on Canal Road)

We are hoping to expand into Vaughan/Mono/Orangeville area this year so please contact us for more details.
If you wish to have your area become a home delivery zone we base these areas on received registration forms. Please contact us if your area is not on this list as we are constantly receiving requests for home delivery in other areas and can let you know if that may occur this year. We can help you get this set-up in your area.
Yes, the program will be flexible with vacation times. We must receive 10 days written notice (email acceptable) prior to when the vacation starts and you will not be billed for the boxes for those week(s). If you miss a week or do not give proper notice you will be billed for that week.
2018 Allowable Vacation Weeks:
Weekly : Up to 4 Weeks Refundable
Bi-Weekly: Up to 2 Weeks Refundable
These vacation weeks can also be as "off" or "break" weeks if you find your fridge to full and need a week to catch up.

Once you sign up for the program; every houshold you bring into the current season's program you will receive a $10.00 rebate. Your referral must complete the entire season and rebate cheques will be mailed out 4-6 weeks after the last week. For example: If you refer 5 households, and they all complete the season, you will receive a $50.00 rebate cheque! (If you referred someone to last year's program and they start up again for this upcoming season the rebate no longer applies. This referral program applies to new referrals you bring into the program for each season only.) If your referral comes in mid season they must complete the season from their start date and the referral amount of $10.00 will be pro-rate to reflect their weeks on the program. (i.e: if they come in on week 10 and complete the final 10 weeks you will receive $5.00 for that referral).
Being a part of the Harvest Share Food Box Program is one way to reduce your carbon footprint, to support your local economy and to guarantee a weekly supply of safe healthy farm fresh produce for your family by dealing direct with a local farmer.
We gather produce from our own farm as well as other local Ontario farms that follow best farm practices. We supply only Ontario produce in this program.
It is a pre-paid program where you can pay for the entire season upfront upon registration and/or take advanatge of our payment plan that allows you to pay in two equal installments. The first half of the season (10 weeks) is due upon registration and the remainder of the season (the final 10 weeks) is due on or before Aug 9th, 2018.
If you are unable to make this payment plan please do not hestitate to contact us. We can also adjust payment plans to suit your household budget - within reason :)
Not to worry, with 10 days written notice we will be able to upgrade or downsize your weekly box size or change frequency. Your final payment will be adjusted to reflect the changes if you are downsizing. If you are upgrading between payment due dates or after, a pro-rated rate may be applicable and payable within 10 days.
There could be a minor difference some of the weeks but all of the same produce will be included in the boxes at some points during the season. The boxes will be arranged to ensure that you are not given all of the same produce each week. They will be planned to ensure that each month you are given an exciting variety of produce. The Small Box will feed approx 2 - 3 people and contains 7 - 8 different types of produce. A Large Size box will feed approx 4 - 5 people and contains 10 - 12 different types of produce.
If you wish to be informed of the contents of each week's box, we send out weekly emails and post the details on our Facebook page. We understand that there are many reasons why you would not be able to continue with the program. To cancel out of the program we need 10 days written notice that you would like to leave early. Any prepaid boxes outside of the 10 days cancellation notice will be refunded to the participant.
